This was a delightful evening with friends at this restaurant. The service was phenomenal, the menu had a wide array of selections for meat and chicken lovers as well as vegetarian fare. The cocktails, beer and wine list were superb. My wife and I ordered the steak and fries and the scallops entree along with the ricotta cheese with toast appetizer. The view of the harbor makes this a lovely place to dine, particularly in the summer when it's light out at dinner time.

Went for lunch while in town for a wedding and sat on the deck outside. Picturesque view, terrific service and fantastic food and drinks. Loved the indoor vibe too. Would definitely return. Wedge salad, fish fry and clam chowder were all amazing!

We held our annual family Christmas dinner party here and it was amazing! Foodie’s were happy! Local yokels were happy! Out-of-towners were happy and our dietary restrictions were all met! Definitely worth visiting for a large party(10, girls night or even a casual date!)

Stopped in to grab dinner when wife and I were exploring Gloucester at the end of March. Wasn’t crowded since I assume we were in the off season but had a reasonable crowd. Service was quick and excellent. Got a cocktail (The Sunny which my wife enjoyed) and a craft beer which were both very good. Started with a special of razor clams and sausage which were surprisingly good (I’m not a huge fan of shellfish but figured I’d try it). The main course was the Faroe Salmon which was superb. Would absolutely recommend it to anybody. If we ever find ourselves up here again will definitely go back.

highest quality ingredients. everything is loaded with flavor. their lunch menu on the weekends is incredible: smash burger, chicken sandwich, avocado toast, brisket sandwich. everything is to die for. i love the steak frite with the petite salad and fries for dinner, and always the whipped ricotta app. this place always crushes it.

Incredibly delicious food that is also fresh and quite inventive. Would highly recommend their take on Clam Chowder, the Maine Mussels, and the Steak Le Grande, which was served with bone marrow, making an interesting plating and a fun dining experience. Service is friendly and timely, and ambiance is relaxed. Must visit during your time in Gloucester.

We had a fantastic experience at Oak to Ember! The harborside view combined with the warm, open atmosphere created the perfect setting for our night out. I tried the tuna tartar, the Smoked Oak Burger, and the Brooklyn cake—each dish was thoughtfully prepared and full of flavor. The burger in particular was outstanding—juicy, smoky, and one of the best I've had. Our server, Tess, was wonderful—friendly, attentive, and incredibly personable. The service overall was top-notch and if I could give more than 5-stars for that, I would. We visited based on a recommendation and have already passed it along to others. If you're looking for great food in a relaxed yet refined setting, Oak to Ember is definitely worth a visit.

I just can’t stop myself from wanting to find something to eat wherever I go. More often than not, I don’t know what the heck I want until I stumble across the right spot smoothly beckoning me to enter and dine. On this short visit to Gloucester, the large what-was-once-a-500-gallon-propane-tank converted into a smoke pit spewing sweet wood smoke right in front of the restaurant caught and held my attention. It was enough to stop me in my tracks that all the other restaurants I walked by earlier didn’t and walk right in shortly after taking a few photos of the smoker. I stuck to small bites on this visit and was pleasantly impressed by the food and service. More than anything, I really, really, REALLY enjoyed the wood grilled calamari. The way all the components came together in one bite was for my palate absolutely eye-rolling-tongue-gasmic. I honestly still think about that dish and can’t wait to drive back up just to have it again as well as try several of their mainstays and smoked items. See you all again soon! Cheers!
